How the calculator works
Enter a creator's follower count and average likes/comments — the calculator estimates engagement rate instantly, entirely in your browser. No sign-up, no data sent to a server.
How to read the result
Engagement rate = (average likes + average comments) ÷ followers. The bands above are rough cross-industry ranges for micro and mid-tier creators; treat them as orientation, not a verdict.
FAQ
- Why is my engagement rate lower than likes ÷ followers?
- Comments count too. If you only know likes, the real rate is usually a bit higher — add a comment estimate for a fairer number.
- What engagement rate is good for outreach?
- Above 3% is a solid signal for micro and mid-tier creators; below 1% often means inflated followers or passive audiences.
- Which inputs does this calculator use?
- Average likes and average comments per post relative to follower count: (likes + comments) ÷ followers. Shares and saves are left out on purpose — most platforms don't expose them publicly, and excluding them keeps creators comparable.
- Can one viral post skew the result?
- Yes. Enter the average of your recent posts, not the single best one; if one post is a clear outlier, drop it or average 5–10 posts before entering values.
- Is follower-based ER the only way to measure engagement?
- No — view-based engagement (interactions ÷ views) exists too. Follower-based ER is used here because it is the cross-platform comparable standard, and it is the same formula the Compare tool applies when benchmarking two creators.
- How do I check whether the engagement is real?
- High engagement on an inflated follower base usually comes from engagement pods. Cross-check the account with the Fake Follower Checker, then compare it against similar creators to see whether the rate is normal for its tier.
- Where does the data come from?
- Public platform data and third-party public profile databases. We don't scrape behind logins or buy private lists.
- Is this an audit?
- No. It's a heuristic estimate from public metrics to help you decide whether to reach out — not a verdict on a creator.
- Does it cost anything?
- Some tools work without signing up. Data lookups use a small number of credits per successful query; failures are refunded automatically.
- Can I export the results?
- Yes. Unlocked results export to CSV, and in the workspace you can process them in batches.
